JOE KOLMAN

DIRECTOR + PRODUCER

Kolman’s publications as a print journalist range from the Chicago Reader (1979) to The Economist (2017). He has spent the last five years working on a book and documentary film about the 1963 cold-case assassination of Ben Lewis, the first Black person to represent the 24th Ward in the Chicago City Council.

ELANA SIGALL

PRODUCER

Elana Sigall is a consultant and attorney with an expertise in education-related legal and policy issues.  She has served as the education advisor to the Governor of New York, as the head of special education policy for New York City, and as a professor at Columbia University.  She consults and serves as an expert witness for people choosing to leave ultra-Orthodox communities and yeshivas and seeking a secular education for their children.

Itzhak is a New York City-based editor, producer and director with seven years of experience producing documentaries and TV features for both national and niche audiences. His work with NBC News has been nominated for Emmy and Webby awards. He oversees video projects from initial conception to publication or broadcast often taking on multiple roles including producer, director, cinematographer and editor.

ANNA ANDERSEN

CINEMATOGRAPHER

As a freelancing Director and Cinematographer, Andersen uses her craft to uplift those who are on the fringes of society and connects communities around the globe through video. As a multimedia filmmaker and journalist, her work has been featured and published in Forbes, Passion Passport, Medium, and Global Citizen. She is interested in topics that bring diversity, ethics, and conservationism into focus. 

KALEN CHENG

CINEMATOGRAPHER

Cheng is a New York City filmmaker and cinematographer who works on documentaries and narratives centered around themes of dignity, religion, race, and the empowerment of children. As a Chinese American filmmaker, she examines the role of race and sex in the cultural fiber of the workplace and the American society. As a cinematographer, she evolved her aesthetic from the foundation of fine art to capture a beautiful world with light and interesting compositions. She explores the various types of movement and composition and allows for the moving image to be led by character and emotions.

Max Diamond is a J.D. candidate at Georgetown University Law Center. He was previously an investigative reporting fellow at RealClearPolitics, and a reporting fellow at the Raleigh News & Observer. He has been published in the Washington Post and other national publications.
